What a brilliant idea! A micro-philanthropy site for the arts

At United States Artists, you can not only discover the best new talent in visual arts, music, crafts, architecture, design, theater, literature, and everything in between – you can help fund their, hopefully, breakthrough projects. The artist proposals are dizzying in their scope and numbers – but searching through them is both fun and educational.

From funding movies about the cultural explosion of kung-fu culture in the 1970s by Broad fellow Renée Tajima-Peña:


To a wind and light installation by MIT students hoping to bring more attention to renewable resources:


There is something of interest for everyone – and for every pocketbook.
